Hello, I’m Nick Savides, a filmmaker based in Baton Rouge. I want to help you share your story and rekindle the spark of what is possible with videos that are captivating, earnest, and wonderful.

I studied Film & Television at Boston University and Computer Animation at Full Sail. After that, I went to work for Canon for over 15 years, where I learned more about high-end camera equipment and what excellent imagery involves.

At this point, I’ve made videos in and around Louisiana for over 10 years. Some highlights include being a camera operator at Voodoo Fest, SXSW, and Blues Fest; editing a weekly Louisiana TV show; and producing & directing a variety of commercials, wedding videos, music videos, and award-winning short films. In short, I have experience working with cameras & visual effects, actors & motion graphics.

Experience matters, but finding the right media partner goes beyond that. It involves finding common ground and shared sensibilities, so let me tell you more about where I'm coming from. I was born in NY, but both my parents were born in Greece. My dad ended up serving in the US Navy, and my mom is one of the most patriotic people I know. Together, they instilled in me an appreciation for what America, at its best, can be.

Like my parents, director Frank Capra (It’s a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) was also an immigrant. I grew up not just admiring his films but wanting to be a part of the idyllic Americana communities and the sense of freedom, opportunity, and decency that his films conveyed.

Ideals are what they are, not because we can touch them every moment of every day, but because they give us something to strive for and reorient our direction when we get knocked off course. In that regard, Frank Capra's films have been like a North Star to me over the years, and I want to work with those who feel the same way.
